Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has declared that Nigeria shall be great again if the right step is taken to address the rot in the system.
He made the statement in an interview with newsmen, yesterday, in Lagos on the sideline of a workshop organised by ‘The Platform’ with the theme: Democracy and the Free Capital Economy, where he featured as one of the key speakers alongside former minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, former speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah.
The governor said: “We have to fasten your seatbelt. There are challenges that abound everywhere both for the governed and the leaders, but we must forge ahead.
“We empathised with those who were unable to afford anything to celebrate due to the present economic hardship.
“These are trying times, no doubt, but Nigeria remains potentially the largest black nation on earth. It also ranked as the largest democracy in Africa, and as such, we must do everything in our power to safeguard our democracy.
“It would require our total collective commitment and sacrifice to make things work out for good; to create a land of peace, freedom, and prosperity. As we say in my place,’it is good to complain, but in doing that, we must not fold our arms and watch’. We must all make our mark to build a prosperous nation.”
