Nigeria has intensified efforts to attract foreign investment into its solid minerals sector as the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, led the Nigeria Solid Minerals Company (NSMC) delegation to the White House for high-level talks with U.S. officials on expanding cooperation in critical minerals.
The discussions with David Copley, Special Assistant to the U.S. President and Senior Director for Global Supply Chain at the National Security Council, and Diana London of DCI Group, focused on strengthening the Nigeria-United States strategic partnership and unlocking investment opportunities across the critical minerals value chain.
The meeting explored collaboration in geological exploration, mining, mineral processing, value addition and refining, with both sides seeking to build secure and resilient supply chains for minerals essential to the global energy transition.
The engagement is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises economic diversification, industrialisation, job creation and the attraction of strategic foreign investment into key sectors of the economy.
