The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has said Nigeria is on course to restoration because President Bola Tinubu, is building a stronger country with bright future prospects under his administration.
According to a statement issued by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady was speaking at a dinner held in her honour by Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) in Sierra Leone.
She pointed out that the country’s current leadership prioritises the interests of Nigerians, which is why it has implemented audacious programmes and initiatives.
“I can assure you. You can trust my husband. Nigeria is like a fresh baby that we have to nurture. We hope to lay a good foundation that generations will be able to build upon. We are in it to make sure we can turn our nation around,” she said.
Mrs. Tinubu commended Nigerians living in Sierra Leone for the unity they demonstrate despite being from different tribes and religious backgrounds. This, she said should be emulated by Nigerians back home.
The President of NIDO in Sierra Leone, Abiodun Oyebola on behalf of the others expressed confidence in the President Tinubu’s administration, assuring that they will continue to support the government.
He also commended the Renewed Hope Initiative, the pet project of the First Lady, for all it has done so far and to impact lives.
He called for collaboration with other African First Ladies to replicate programs such as the empowerment of widows and orphans of the Armed Forces in their countries.
Oyebola appealed to the First Lady to lend a helping hand to the Nigerian community in Sierra Leone in their plans to execute a Hospital in Nigeria.
Some of those who spoke asked that the Nigerian government should consider those in diaspora in subsequent voting processes.
The First Lady was in Sierra Leone on the invitation of the country’s First Lady, Fatima Bio to commemorate the UN Day on the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence on November 18.
