Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to developing a thriving and sustainable automotive industry, according to statements made at a recent stakeholders’ conference in Lagos. The conference, themed, “Strategy for the Current and Sustainable Future of the Auto Industry in Nigeria,” brought together key players from government, industry, and international organisations to chart a course for the sector’s future.
Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of State for Industry, emphasised the Federal Government’s dedication to advancing the industry, highlighting its potential to drive job creation, technological innovation, and economic diversification. He pledged the government’s support through targeted policies, incentives, and investments to address existing challenges in local manufacturing, infrastructure development, and global competitiveness.
Organised by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), the conference drew participation from prominent stakeholders, including the Federal Ministry of Finance, the National Automotive Manufacturers’ Association (NAMA), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).
