Niger Police Command Present N44.5million Cheques to Families of Deceased Officers from the Command

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command Mr. Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman has presented cheques of various amounts to deceased officers from the lost their lives in active duties.

Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries families and next of kins on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, at the command officers mess in Minna on Friday, Mr. Dam Manmamman said 69 next of kins and families members of Police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty recently were captured in the exercise.

The Commissioner of Police told the beneficiaries the entitlements were part the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes, adding that, the gesture was in concern of the welfare of the men, to assist and ameliorate hardship the families might be facing.

He acknowledged that though, the cheques might not be enough to cater for the families, he believed it was a token that would grow to sustain the family.
He then prayed that the good Lord will strengthen the families and fill the void that the circumstances might have caused.
“Man is not worthy enough to condole you effectively, may the Lord continue to condole and strengthen you, and you shall not witness this loss again”.

Mr Joshua Shaaba one of the benefiting family members appreciated the Police authority, especially the IGP, the Commissioner of Police and the Command, for their efforts towards a speedy processing of the claims.
