The Niger State Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago has directed the dissolution of all statutory Commissions, Boards, and Parastatals in the state with immediate effect.

The governor equally ordered the termination of all Political appointment that were made before May 29, 2023 and directed all the affected officers to vacate their offices immediately.

The governor in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman disclosed that Governor Umar Bago explained that “Commissions, Boards, and Parastatals that are tenured or not tenured are also affected by the dissolution”.

The statement therefore urged all concerned officials to comply with the new development immediately.

While recognizing their positive contributions to the development of the State and the affairs of their office, the statement directed those affected by the dissolution to hand over all Government properties including official vehicles in their possession to the most senior Director in their respective organizations.

The Governor wishes members of the dissolved Commissions, Boards, Parastatals and Political Appointees success in their future endeavors, the statement further added.

The dissolution of boards, Parastatals and commission is coming barely one week after the governor sacked the State Independent Electoral Commission and directed it’s chairman to handover to the most senior office in the commission.
