United Kingdom-based social critic and Delta State youth advocate, Ifeanyi Samson Mogbolu, has praised the appointment of Dr. John Nwabueze as Nigeria’s Tax Ombudsman.
Mogbolu described the development as a strategic and progressive step toward strengthening transparency, accountability, and good governance within the nation’s tax administration system.
Speaking after an engagement with Dr. Nwabueze, Mogbolu expressed strong confidence in the newly appointed Ombudsman’s leadership capacity and reform-driven vision.

He noted that Nwabueze’s passion for institutional integrity and public service was clearly evident during their discussion.
According to Mogbolu, the new Tax Ombudsman demonstrated a firm commitment to establishing a people-oriented institution. The office aims to protect taxpayers’ rights, promote fairness, and ensure that disputes between citizens and revenue authorities are resolved professionally, transparently, and impartially.
Mogbolu further described the establishment of the Tax Ombudsman Office as a commendable initiative capable of restoring public confidence in the nation’s tax system while curbing administrative excesses within revenue-related institutions.
”The Tax Ombudsman initiative is a bold and timely reform that reflects the principles of good governance, institutional justice, and democratic accountability. Nigeria needs institutions that prioritise transparency, fairness, and the protection of citizens’ interests,” Mogbolu stated.
He also urged Delta State to take pride in Nwabueze’s achievements and national contributions, emphasising that his professionalism, competence, and readiness to serve deserve widespread recognition and support.
