Abuja World Academy has concluded plans to open a new school in Abuja late in the year, as part of its desire to expand quality and life impacting education opportunities for younger generations in the country.
The Academy, rooted in the best of British education within a Nigerian context, expressed its determination to empower students with a distinct advantage for global success while advancing to the world’s best universities.
In a statement released in Abuja, the promoters of the school promised to create an exciting, positive, caring, compassionate, and above all, safe school environment for children to develop their skills and competence ready for the world full of opportunities.
Mr. Joe Daly, Head of School, Abuja World Academy, who signed the statement, said the school will foster inquiry-based learning and instill ethical values in students to enable them become innovative and capable global leaders.
He added: “managed and operated by the United Kingdom OFSTED accredited, The Regent School, Abuja World Academy will offer the highest standard of education in an exciting educational environment dedicated to fostering the holistic development of every learner.
“Situated in a cutting-edge facility, the Academy will set the highest standard of education in Nigeria. The first intake of students starting September 2024 will be from the Pre-Playgroup stage through to Year 9. Ultimately the school will accommodate students from Early Years through to Year 11, with students ranging from 18 months to 17 years old.”
He said that Mrs. Dominique Dyer, a highly experienced British educators has been invited to lead the school as the Executive Headteacher, alongside other capable and experienced persons that would be involved in the management of the school.
“Together, these dynamic practitioners have extremely high ambitions for our new school, and in collaboration with some of the best teachers Nigeria has to offer, will bring the best of British education to Abuja World Academy,” he said.
He maintained that the Academy’s goal is to prepare students not only for academic success but also to empower them to make positive decisions and contributions to their communities and the world.
