The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has officially announced the commencement of applications for the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) claims for export transactions carried out in 2023 and 2024.
A statement signed by Ella Onoja, Deputy Director of the Export Development & Incentives Department for the Executive Director said eligible exporters are to submit their applications through the designated EEG portal.
The online submission process begins on Monday, August 4, 2025, and will close on Friday, October 10, 2025.
According to the circular, applicants are required to fill the relevant data and upload the necessary export documents on the online portal.
Only exporters who have already submitted their EEG baseline data and received their ratings for the relevant years are eligible to apply.
As outlined in the circular, applicants are required to upload specific documents per export transaction, including: NEPC-CBN Schedule and Export Schedule (excel format).

“EEG application documents as they relate to each of the export transactions separately in this order: Form NXP; Bill of Lading/Way bill/Airway bill Final/Commercial invoice (Pro-forma invoice not acceptable); Single Goods Declaration Form (front & back); Bank Letter (Evidence of repatriation of export proceeds); Clean Certificate of Inspection; Certificate of Manufacture (for Merchant Exporters only).”
For documents submission, it directed that: “Each Form NXP and the accompanying documents must be scanned in a single PDF file using the exact NXP number as file name and uploaded accordingly.
“Exporters are advised to strictly adhere to the EEG Application Guidelines and note that incomplete or illegible documents will neither be accepted nor processed. The Council will not accept responsibility for claims denied in respect of incomplete and illegible documents.”
Exporters are encouraged to act promptly to ensure timely processing of their claims.
The EEG is a federal government initiative aimed at supporting and encouraging non-oil exports by providing financial incentives to exporters, thereby promoting economic diversification.
Commenting on the call for submission, Ehimigbai Omokhia, a manufacturer and an executive of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Export Group (MANEG), noted that this will boost manufacturing exporters’ confidence.
“EEG is meant to mitigate some of the challenges associated with manufacturing exporters in Nigeria, to enable made in Nigeria products to compete in terms of price, quality etc.”
