The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has announced that it has finalised plans to engage 21,782 unskilled and unemployed individuals across Nigeria.
Under the initiative, the directorate will provide vocational, agricultural, digital and entrepreneurial skills training, incorporating activities in the public works sector, utilising over 30 different skill sets.
According to the Director General of the directorate, Silas Ali Agara, the job creation initiative of the NDE, which is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, would also provide start-up capital, equipment and working tools to some of the participants as soft loans at the end of the training to commence small or medium scale businesses.
He disclosed that enrollment into the employment programme was strictly online, adding that interested persons should log on to the NDE website and register with a valid National Identity Number (NIN) and a recent passport photograph.
The Director General stated that online registration would begin on July 28 and end on August 11.
