The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the appointment of National Vice Chairmen for all six geopolitical zones of the country as part of efforts to strengthen its national structure ahead of its forthcoming congresses and national convention.

In a statement issued on April 6 signed by the party’s National Chairman, Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, and National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the party said the appointments reflect its commitment to inclusiveness and balanced representation across the federation.

According to the statement, the newly appointed vice chairmen will represent the North-West, North-East, North-Central, South-South, South-East and South-West zones, ensuring that the party maintains a truly national outlook.

The list released by the party includes Mohammed Bakin Zuwo for the North-West and Dr. Danlami Arabs for the North-East. Barrister Frederick E. Owotorufa was named for the South-South zone, while Chief Teddy Obey will represent the South-East.

Others are Chief (Engr.) Barnabas J. Ejisi for the North-Central zone and Pastor Dr. (Mrs.) Adedayo Ekong for the South-West. The party leadership noted that the appointments are a critical step in consolidating its grassroots and national structures as it prepares for internal party activities in the coming months.

“The Nigeria Democratic Congress is committed to building a strong, inclusive and nationally representative platform that reflects the aspirations of all Nigerians,” the statement said.

The NDC added that the newly appointed officials are expected to drive coordination and political engagement across their respective zones as the party positions itself for future electoral contests.
