Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in collaboration with Divine Communications Integrated Limited has just concluded a three-week training on bag making and fashion design for 50 women.

The training held in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital focused on practical skills in leatherwork, fabric bag production, pattern cutting, garment construction and basic business management to help participants launch small businesses in the fashion industry.

At the closing ceremony, participants showcased bags, backpacks, clutches and garments they produced during the training programme.

Each participant received a certificate, a starter pack containing tools and materials needed to set up, as well as cash support.

Speaking at the event, representatives from Divine Communications Integrated Limited said the initiative was aimed at reducing unemployment and strengthening local content by equipping women with marketable skills.

Organisers added that follow-up mentorship and market linkage support would be provided to the graduates over the next six months to help them establish and grow their businesses.
