The Nigerian Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF), established to foster growth and development among young legal professionals, has announced the composition of committees to drive its strategic initiatives.
In a statement released on Monday, January 20, 2025, the Governing Council of the Young Lawyers Forum unveiled the committees, emphasizing their role in addressing key challenges faced by young lawyers and providing avenues for professional advancement and impactful participation in the NBA’s roadmap.
Among those appointed are Umoh Edet and Charles Agbaja, alongside Mr. Abass Oroh, named as members of the Programs, Projects, and Policies Committee. Mr. Oroh’s appointment reflects his dedication and commitment to service, not just within the NBA and YLF but across Nigeria.
Abass Oroh is a social justice advocate, Public Relations and Development Practitioner, and experienced Project Manager. He is also a founding member of CEOs Network Africa and serves as the Executive Secretary of the Evergreen Initiative.
Expressing his gratitude, Oroh shared his excitement about the opportunity to serve on the committee.
He stated: “I am deeply honoured to contribute to the Programs, Projects, and Policies Committee of the NBA-YLF. This is an opportunity to play a role in fostering excellence within the legal profession and supporting the vision of a progressive and impactful bar.”
He further extended his appreciation to NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, and General Secretary Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara, for their steadfast leadership in building a proactive and dynamic NBA.
Additionally, he thanked the Chairman of the NBA-YLF, Timothy Clement, Esq., and Secretary Etaba Agbor, Esq., for their unwavering commitment to empowering young lawyers across Nigeria.
The newly constituted committees are expected to accelerate the implementation of initiatives that will shape the future of the legal profession and contribute to the broader objectives of the NBA.
