The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has reconstituted it’s board on Human Rights Institute (NBA-HRI).
A statement by NBA’s national publicity secretary, Akorede Habeeb Lawal, said the national president, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, reconstituted the 15-member board which has Chinoye Obiagwu as chairman.
Lawal, in the statement which was made available to our correspondent in Asaba, stated however that the reconstituted board was subject to ratification by the National Executive Council of NBA.
He re-affirmed the commitment of the NBA to the promotion and protection of fundamental rights, human rights and people’s right.
According to Lawal, the NBA president thanked the board members for accepting to serve, even as he urged them to be diligent and to employ their wealth of experience in the field of human rights to strengthen the NBA’s position as the bastion of human rights cause in Nigeria.
