National Sports Festival: Kebbi ready to participate in over 90% activities — Sports Commissioner

Ahead of National Sports Festival billed to hold in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Kebbi State Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development, Comrade Nura Bala Fingila has disclosed that athletes from the state would slugs it out with their counterparts from other states in over 90 percentage of the activities at the festival.

Fingila stated this while speaking with newsmen after receiving the Unity Touch from the National Sports Commission team,led by  Mrs. Ikana Mbora.

According to him, ”  the Governor has given approval to our memo. We are ready to participate in the festival. All the athletes are ready , they are just waiting for the opportunity  to display their talents. Our Governor is a sports lover and he has support us with everything.

“We have been able to harmonized  some of these sports activities. Infact,I can tell you that 90 percentage of our athletes are on ground and we are ready to participate in the sports festival. We have made arrangement on that with the support of this current administration”.

Fingila however declared the readiness of the State’s athletes to participate in the festival which will kick off on 16th to 30th May,2025.

Earlier, team leader of National Sports Commission,which brought Unity Touch to State, Mrs.Ikana Mbora explained that the essence of bringing the unity touch to the state is to invite the state and preaching of unity across the Federation and cooperation through the youths.

She added that the National Sports Festival is designed to give opportunity to all Nigeria’s youths to display their potentials, skills and curb the youth restiveness.
