The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has reversed the appointment of Atiku Ibrahim as deputy clerk of the National Assembly. He has been replaced with Bashir Aminu Yero.

This followed an emergency meeting of the commission, yesterday.

NASC, in a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information,  Mr. Emmanuel Anyigor, disclosed that the commission has appointed Atiku, the erstwhile Director of Finance and Supplies in the House of Representatives, as the Secretary of the Directorate of Procurement and Supplies.

On the other hand, the former Secretary of the Directorate of Procurement and Supplies,  Liman Baba Sanda, has been redeployed as secretary of Estate and Works.

The appointments and redeployments take effect from February 2, 2025.

“In their respective appointment letters signed by the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ahmed Kadi Amshi, noted that the elevations and redeployment were in recognition of their hard work and administrative competence and therefore enjoined them to uphold the confidence reposed in them,” the statement said.
