The Nasarawa State Government has confirmed the abduction of Dr. Muhammed Egye Osolafia, popularly known as Deedat, who serves as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Humanitarian Services.

Osolafia was reportedly seized by gunmen on Saturday night at his residence in Tudun Amba, a suburb of Lafia, the state capital. The assailants were said to have stormed the area, shooting sporadically into the air before whisking him away.

Confirming the incident, Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Affairs, Mr. Peter Ahemba, described the development as “sad and unfortunate.” He explained that he received the news of the abduction from another colleague late in the night.

The abduction of Osolafia comes barely two months after the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Culture, Barrister Yusuf Musa, was kidnapped from his home in Ungwan Nungu, also in Lafia.

As at the time of filing this report police was yet to confirm the abduction as our Correspondent made efforts to communicate the Nasarawa state police Command buy yet to receive a response.
