The Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, extends warm wishes to the Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, following the conclusion of Ramadan.
In his statement signed by DSP Ramhan Nansel sent to reporters on Monday, emphasizes the significance of this festive period for introspection and prayer, urging residents to prioritize peace and progress for both the state and the nation.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I call upon all religious leaders, worshippers, and residents to collaborate closely with law enforcement and security agencies,” CP Nadada affirms. “We have implemented comprehensive security arrangements to ensure a seamless celebration and enhance public safety.”
CP Nadada outlines strategic directives for his team, emphasizing widespread security deployments, including overt and covert measures across the state. “Our goal is to safeguard lives, protect properties, and secure worship and recreational centers,” he states. Additionally, he underscores the activation of neighborhood policing beats to foster community engagement and vigilance.
The Commissioner reassures the public of sustained high-visibility policing throughout and beyond the festivities. “We have strategically positioned patrol vehicles along highways and fortified entry and exit points to the state,” he assures. Furthermore, critical infrastructure will receive heightened protection to mitigate potential security risks.
“Amidst the celebrations, I urge everyone to exercise restraint and celebrate responsibly,” CP Nadada concludes. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining peace and harmony, urging citizens to promptly report any emergencies or suspicious activities to the designated helpline numbers provided.
The commissioner reiterates the commitment of the Nasarawa State Command to ensuring the safety and security of all residents during the Eid celebrations.
