Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis’s latest comments on the valuation of Victor Osimhen have not gone down well with the striker’s representative, Roberto Calenda.
According to II Matino via Napolipiu, the utterances of the Napoli President have consequently caused tension with Osimhen’s camp due to a difference in valuation.
Just recently, De Laurentiis stated that he would only consider selling the star striker if he receives a £170 million (about €200 million) bid, which displeased Calenda.
The 74-year-old also went on to state that only PSG could afford the last season’s Serie A top scorer, thereby ruling out Manchester United and Chelsea’s chances of signing him.
From all indications, Napoli is not ready to sell their star striker and that explains why his suitors are considering alternatives.
However, with more than a month to the end of the transfer window, anything could happen particularly if Mbappe leaves PSG.
The discussion over a long-term deal is still ongoing between the Serie A champions and the Super Eagles forward and it remains to be seen whether both parties will reach an agreement on the terms of the new deal.
