The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has commended Deputy Comptroller Oladapo Afeni for a blistering start as Area Comptroller, Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun I Area Command.
In a Thursday statement signed by its National President, Aare Oluwafemi Ajayi, the association expressed delight at Afeni’s outstanding start marked by courage, professionalism, and operational excellence.
The association observed that within just 11 days under the new comptroller, the command recorded unprecedented seizures of contraband goods with a Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦2,006,008,898.00.
Notable among these were trucks conveying thousands of cartons of illegally imported spaghetti and large quantities of foreign vegetable oil, alongside the interception of hard drugs, including crystal meth, heroin, and large volumes of cannabis sativa.
The command also seized PMS, foreign parboiled rice, used vehicles, tyres, and several means of conveyance across multiple locations in Ogun State.
NAOSS further commended the command for its vigilance and firm warning to smugglers and their collaborators, reaffirming its readiness to protect Nigeria’s economic and security interests with integrity and professionalism.
The association said, “The collaboration with traditional institutions, community leaders, youth groups, informants, and the media is equally laudable.
“NAOSS National is happy with this remarkable performance and hopeful for even greater achievements ahead.
“We pledge our continued support and cooperation to the Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun I Command.”
