NANS warns PENGASSAN against sabotaging Dangote refinery

From Enweliku Kent, Asaba

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has warned PENGASSAN and others against sabotaging Dangote Refinery.

The National President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja who spoke yesterday through his assistant Comrade Jeremiah Friday Ohomah, during a rally in Asaba, said the caution was to draw attention to the challenges facing local refineries and to urge the federal government to stabilise domestic fuel production.

He said the rally is taking place “simultaneously in Abuja and Lagos as a coordinated signal to the Nigerian government and industry actors that the students and youth of this country are fully awake.”

He added that any attempt or action to frustrate, sabotage, or deliberately impose anti-investment policies on the survival of private refineries will lead to total occupation of federal highways across all 36 states and the FCT by Nigerian students.

He noted that Nigeria is blessed with abundant crude oil, and remains a paradoxical importer of refined petroleum products.

He said, “Our national refineries in Port Harcourt, Kaduna, and Warri have been deliberately crippled for decades through a web of sabotage, mismanagement, and collusion between local and foreign oil interests.”
