• As Ambassador Onoh presents Letter of Credence

From Chidi Nnadi, Enugu

President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr Hage Geingob, has expressed happiness over the news that President Muhammadu Buhari is recuperating fast in London where he is receiving medical attention.

Geingob made this known at the weekend when Ambassador Lilian Onoh, daughter of former Governor of Old Anambra State, Chief C. C. Onoh, presented her Letter of Credence to the president as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Namibia.

The president recalled Nigeria’s support to Namibia during her struggle for independence and said without Nigeria, apartheid would not have ended.

He reiterated his country’s commitment to Nigeria and, thereafter, raised a toast to the improving health condition of President Buhari.

Ambassador Lilian Onoh, who was accompanied by her sister, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Nigeria’s immediate past Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and other members of staff of the Nigeria High Commission to the State House in Windhoek, in her response, pledged to  strengthen the strong bonds existing between Nigeria and Namibia, in collaboration with all stakeholders, to make both countries and, indeed, the entire continent stronger.

Daily Sun gathered that prior to this appointment, Ambassador Lilian Onoh was the acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to Jamaica with concurrent accreditation to Belize, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
