As the new Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA),  Engr Ahmed Umar Farouk settles in, he has declared emergency on power challenges jolting the establishment.

He also identified boosting aeronautical communication and generally modernising the country’s airspace as his priority areas in the interest of operational safety and galvanizing the economy into greater heights.

These focal points are consistent with the performance commitments extracted from the aviation industry’s new Chief Executives at their inauguration by the Aviation and Aerospace Minister, Mr Festus Keyamo.

The NAMA boss, at the inauguration, assured the aviation industry of NAMA’s dedication to surpassing expectations, tackling challenges, and aligning with Keyamo’s and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

He revealed that the agency has secured immediate government approval for the overhaul and modernization of the country’s airspace communication architecture.

“The communication architecture of Nigerian airspace is now broadened, addressing issues that were prevalent before. We are dedicated to ensuring seamless communication between pilots and air traffic controllers”, he explained.
