Goods worth millions of naira have been destroyed by fire which engulfed a commercial building along the Lagos-Asaba road in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The ravaging inferno which was said to have occurred on Tuesday evening, caused pandemonium in the area.
Although no life was lost during the incident, the fire consumed the building and everything in it.
In a recorded video, the fire burned out ferociously and rapidly spread across the building.
A voice in the video, claimed that fire fighters came with only one truck in a bid to put out the raging inferno.
However, efforts of the fire fighters seemed not to have yielded results as the fire continued to spread with high intensity, according to the video seen by our correspondent.
As at the time of filing report the cause of the incident could not be ascertained as some concerned residents in the viral video claimed that it might have resulted from a gas powered generator.
But Public Relations Officer of the state police command, DSP Bright Edafe swiftly dispelled the rumours that the fire resulted from gas explosion.
Edafe simply stated that it was a fire incident with no human casualties.
Nevertheless, owners of shops in the burnt building would be counting their losses.
