Nigerian singer, Bajulaiye Oyetunji Abiodun Paul, popularly known as John Donbilly has said that his aim of becoming a singer is to motivate people.
According to him, his life experiences inspire the kind of songs he does and being able to do what he loves gives him satisfaction.
John Donbilly said, “Life experiences have been the inspiration behind my music. As an artist, I write songs out of everything that happens around me. Many things have happened to me as a human. So, putting it down as music gives me hope and satisfaction.
The artiste, who has been writing music since the age of twelve, noted that music has been a constant part of his life.
John Donbilly was born in Nigeria, where he found his passion for music at a young age. Growing up, he was exposed to a diverse genre of music, including Afrobeats, Highlife, Hip Hop, and R&B, among others. After developing his skills as a songwriter, singer, and rapper, he ultimately relocated to Canada in order to pursue a career in the music industry there.
Donbilly has always lent his voice and opinion on things in Nigeria though he isn’t present that makes it look like he never left.
Talking about the highlight of his career, John Billy noted that an unforgettable moment in his career so far was when he wrote and released his first song.
He said, “Since childhood, singing and watching people sing gives me joy. One of the highlight of my career so far is when I recorded my first single.
Speaking on the most challenging moment in his career, he said, “I believe challenges come and go but some challenges motivate us and help us grow into better people.
Since moving to Canada, John Donbilly has established himself as a prominent figure in the country’s music scene.
His music is a mix of African and Western sounds, combining traditional African rhythms with modern beats and melodies. His sound is a combination of African and Western sounds. His compositions are frequently introspective, delving into topics such as love, heartbreak, and the process of coming into one’s own.
