The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, Mele Kyari has said his daughter, Fatima’s death united many people whose lives she touched.
Kyari said this in a post on X on Tuesday, October 15.
Daily Sun reports that Fatima died aged 25 last Friday.
Funeral prayers for the deceased were held at the Annur mosque in Abuja, and Vice President Kashim Shettima led dignitaries to the event.
In his message, Kyari said, “My daughter Fatima departed at her appointed time and looking forward to meeting her in Jannah by Allah’s grace.
“While the loss is great by all measures, we remain grateful to God for all his mercies. I didn’t know the depth of her connections with many people and what she meant to many.
“Despite her physical challenges, she was able to touch hearts in very soothing ways, including me.
“Above all, her demise brought many people together and demonstrated that we all can care for others irrespective of our social circumstances.
“I profoundly thank our leaders, family members, friends, associates, colleagues, our teachers and the countless unmentioned that joined us to pray for the repose of her soul and for consoling us.”
