Mutfwang charges new commissioners on service delivery

Mutfwang charges new commissioners

From Jude Owuamanam, Jos

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has charged newly inaugurated commissioners to key into the vision of his administration, which is geared towards quality service delivery to the people.

Speaking at the swearing in of newly appointed Commissioners and the inauguration of the Governing Councils of tertiary institutions at the New Government House, Rayfield, yesterday, the governor said coming on board of new members of the state executive council was not a routine government function, but a testament to the administration’s commitment to good governance, efficiency and the collective aspiration of the people to see a government that truly serves their interests.

“Over the past 20 months, the people of Plateau State have placed their trust in us, giving us a clear mandate to rebuild, restore and reposition our beloved state. This administration was birthed by the collective will of our citizens and we remain resolute in our mission to rekindle trust, inspire confidence, and reclaim the lost glory of Plateau,” he stated..

He said the new commissioners were selected from their respective local government areas based on their track records of excellence, integrity and dedication to public service and urged them to see their appointment as not not a privilege but a responsibility —a call to serve with diligence, transparency and accountability.

“I charge you to channel your wealth of experience and expertise towards the success of our “The time is now” administration. Your role in implementing government policies effectively will be crucial in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people. You are expected to drive the vision of this administration with passion, efficiency and an unwavering commitment to service delivery.”

To the chairmen and members of the  governing councils of tertiary institutions, he said they were carefully selected based on their vast knowledge and experience.

“Education remains a cornerstone of our development agenda, and your mandate is to reposition our tertiary institutions to equip our youths with the requisite skills and knowledge to compete globally. I urge you to bring your expertise to bear in revitalising the education sector and making our institutions centres of excellence.”

The new commissioners are Joy Ramnap, former deputy Speaker, PLHA, Dr. Sunday Alex Bassa, Slyvanus Dongtoe Quan Pan, Dr. Nicolas Bamnong, Quan Pan and Cornelius Doeyok Quan Pan. They replaced the five who were sacked last week.
