Wave-making Nigerian musician, Omadogho Enakpodia, popularly known as King Enakpodia recently set social media agog when he dropped hints of the imminent release of his new album.
Posting on his Instagram page, @king_enakpodia, the Urhobo musician (who is also known popularly as The Urhobo Diamond Voice) wrote: “The album of the year King Enakpodia the Urhobo Diamond Voice…New music video dropping soon. My fans [at] home and abroad should be expecting good music from River of Music.”
His other post also affirmed that he is now under the TMY record label.
King Enakpodia who hails from Oghara Oghareki Ethiope West local Government Area in Delta State, has been a sensation with his popularity spanning the Niger Delta region.
Aside having a huge following among the Urhobo in his home state, he has won over a lot of music lovers across the country with his brand of music.
King Enakpodia doesn’t let an opportunity pass by without using it to explain why he is steeped in the Urhobo culture which has a dominant influence on his music.
“Growing up in Ogharaki in Ethiope West was loaded with fun and beautiful memories. There was never a dull moment for me and my siblings and friends as we were given goodies to enjoy by our parents,” he recounted.
According to him: “I started music at an early age with my grandmother who is now late. I was playing from party to party without an invitation for many years till I recorded my first album in 2008, which I titled Fulfillment.”
Continuing, King Enakpodia added: “My childhood friends used to say King you are good in English but I think the Urhobo people need you most to rebrand the Urhobo music for the new generation.”
The rising star who is a youth ambassador of the Urhobo people recently completed a tour of the UK with other popular Nigerian entertainers. His coming album according to his Instagram post is titled My Home to the World.
