With a plot revolving around the dangers of modern slavery, Battered, a film produced by Peter Chukwuemeke Diji aka Faxyman, has been premiered at Sky Cinemas, Lekki, Ajah, Lagos.

Anchored by MC Fresh the Anointed, the event was graced by personalities from all walks of life including Comfort Agboko, NAPTIP Lagos Zonal Commander, Richard Idowu, Franklin Nwaigwe, Emma Offor, and Madu Chikwendu, founder of Lagos International Film Festival. Written by Faith Ozioma Peter Diji, Battered expounds a facet of modern slavery, which the writer expatiates in her book, The Secret Killer.

Richard Idowu, who praised the efforts of the producer, reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State government to the project. “One of our cardinal points is to make sure that all youths are well taken care of. We should be able to make sure that all youths in the state irrespective of their background, religion, tribe, as long as they are resident in Lagos, are forthright, willing and ready to work for the progress of the state. That is why the Ministry of Social Development is statutorily saddled with the responsibility of making sure that the youths are adequately developed, under the youths development programmes.”
