Police have reportedly discovered the body of a final-year Microbiology student of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, simply identified as Blessing, who was found dead days after she was allegedly declared missing by a close friend.

It was learnt that Blessing was reportedly last seen on Sunday and missed a scheduled examination on Monday but messages allegedly sent from her phone claimed she had been kidnapped and that a ransom was being demanded.

It was further gathered that the friend who initially raised the alarm was said to have disallowed concerned students from searching her residence, raising suspicion over Blessing’s whereabouts and safety.

Sources said the Police, acting on a tip-off, reportedly discovered Blessing’s decomposing body within the compound and investigations are currently ongoing to uncover the circumstances surrounding her death.

Spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, Moses Yamu, while confirming the incident, said investigation had commenced.
