From Paul Osuyi, Asaba
Minister of State for Youth Development Mr Ayodeke Olawande has tasked youths in the country to be at the vanguard for the positive transformation of Nigeria.
Olawande urged the youths to have self belief and the ‘can do’ spirit for the social, economic and political emancipation of Nigeria.
The Minister handed down the change during a visit to the Orientation Camp of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Issele-Uku in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Accompanied by some commissioners in the state, Olawande emphasised that the future of the country was in the hands of the youths, adding that corps members should always be in their best to succeed.
Commending the state government for transforming the NYSC camp, he gave assurances that some other challenges with respect to corps members’ welfare would be addressed.
According to him, “We can achieve and transform Nigeria if we believe in ourselves, our future is in our hands, believe in Nigeria, learn a skill at least one or two.
“Where you are born does not determine yourself success, just believe in yourselves no matter how difficult it maybe.
“I commend the State Governor for transforming the NYSC camp to its best, your challenges will be addressed by the state government.”
State coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Alao Olusegun has disclosed that the corp members went through the rudiment of the camp rules, and they are well-behaved with the collective efforts of camp managements.
He, however, said water supply has been a major challenge faced in the NYSC Orientation Camp.
