Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani has reemphasized the critical role of technology in driving economic competitiveness.
The minister reemphasized this during the occasion to announce collaboration between the Federal Government and a fast growing IT services company, IT Horizons Group in Abuja.
The firm in a statement said the collaboration was initiated to establish a unified technological framework to help propel Nigeria to the next era of innovation.
Tijani urged industry leaders and government parastatals to prioritize an approach to technology applications for effective service delivery, recognizing its transformative impact on societal challenges.
He asserted that any government without technology and without prioritizing the applications of technology could not provide service to its people in an effective way.
The event which had representatives from the National Council on ICT in Ministries, Departments and Agencies, gave room for the minister to call on council members to grasp their pivotal roles, highlighting the need for collective efforts within organizations for Nigeria’s development and inclusive growth.
At the event, Technical Sales Manager, IT Horizons Group, Mr Barry Awure, shared insights on “Competitive Analysis of Edge Computing and Cloud Computing.”
Barry informed participants that in a landscape evolving at the speed of light, edge computing emerges as a game-changer. He noted that IT not only enhances efficiency and speed but also provides a strategic advantage in data management and security and also pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
