Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, CEO, CityGate Group and CityGate Homes has been adjudged to be a Nigerian entrepreneur whose leadership in Real Estate, construction, and hospitality has received wide acclaim.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of Abuja, he prepared himself for the tough business terrain in Nigeria.
Under his leadership, CityGate Group and CityGate Homes, a real estate and hospitality conglomerate have become known for quality, innovation, and reliability, delivering multiple estates in Abuja, the nation’s capital. There are five estates to the credit of CityGate Group which are now at different stages – completed, nearing completion and those that are currently being developed.
His entrepreneurial skill also extends to the hospitality industry. Among his investments in that sector are Mbano Royal Suites in Imo State and Royal Suites in Wuse II, Abuja.
Over time, Chief Ejiogu has overseen infrastructure and construction projects beyond housing. His projects in this category include a completed road project in Imo State awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and a mass housing project for the Bauchi State Ministry of Works.
His ability to navigate the many challenges of Real Estate business in Nigeria, from securing capital, regulatory and land-title issues, to changing economic conditions, has distinguished him as a resilient and forward-thinking business leader.
Beyond business, Chief Ejiogu is deeply involved in youth empowerment and community development. He has created employment opportunities across sectors, invested seed capital in small businesses, empowered numerous youths, and improved living conditions for indigent families in his Local Government Area.
In his community, he is a respected traditional ruler, community leader and cultural icon.
The Sun Board of Editors chose him as winner of The Sun Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2025.
