Mikano Motors, the auto division of the expansive Mikano International Limited, on Saturday feted it’s managers, staff and friends, during which those who had excelled in the past one year, were recognised.
The awards ceremony marked the beginning of a new year for the Geely, ZNA and Maxus assembly and marketing company, even as 2022 was described as a successful business year by the General Manager, Ralph Haidar
But, it was not just the serious stuff. It was indeed a ‘family’ affair with the atmosphere at the Karameh Industrial City venue in Wawa, near Lagos, very convivial and filled with pomp and excitement.
At the event, managers and staff who had distinguished themselves in their respective duties, were named and loudly cheered as they stepped out to receive certificates of recognition.
The honours list cut across all the Mikano Motors departments and included drivers, and cleaners, as well as team leaders and managers.
Notable among those recognised were the Auto Assembly Manager, Azdashir Ahmad; Marketing Manager, Karima Okunola; National Sales Manager, Chijioke Mbonu; Showroom Manager, Grace Anasiudu; and the Assistant Manager, Advertising, Wura Orimolade.
Anasiudu, whose award enlivened the atmosphere, was described as an experienced and competent, but very strict, manager.
The General Manager explained that the all-inclusive recognition was an indication that Mikano, as a matter of policy, is conscious of the fact that every worker’s input, irrespective of their position, is important to the company, and is therefore, appreciated.
Haidar thanked the workers for their contributions to the success recorded last year.
Mikano International (Motors Division), which officially commenced auto business in Nigeria in 2018, owns an impressive assembly plant located at the Karameh Industrial City and managed by professionals.
The plant currently assembles vehicles such as various Geely SUVs, ZNA pick-ups, and Maxus T60 pick-up.
