Nigeria’s cultural landscape is about to be shaken up as “MENtality with Ebuka,” a bold new podcast hosted by celebrated media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, is launching its pilot season on October 28, 2025, promising a fresh and unfiltered dialogue about masculinity that has long been overdue.

Set in a relaxed, beer-parlour-style atmosphere, the series offers a rare platform for Nigerian men to share personal stories, confront cultural contradictions, and examine the pressures of modern manhood.

In the podcast, renowned musician and entrepreneur, Banky Wellington (Banky W) and Ebuka dive deep into issues shaping men’s lives, gender roles, religion, love, and societal expectations challenging outdated stereotypes with honesty, humor, and empathy.

“Too often, men feel pressured to fit into outdated moulds of masculinity. We’re creating a space where men can speak openly about their struggles, fears, and growth without shame,” Ebuka stated.

Banky W emphasizes the broader impact: “These conversations are not just for men. They’re for women, families, and communities impacted by evolving gender norms. Our goal is to foster understanding, empathy, and real change.”

The series features an impressive lineup of guests including Seun Kuti, Noble Igwe, Johnny Drille, Timi Dakolo, Hermes Iyele, and members of the Menisms podcast, among others. Each episode will be available weekly on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other major platforms in both audio and visual formats.

Produced by She Tank Studios — an innovative division of The She Tank, a global culture lab dedicated to empowering women and shaping gender futures —“MENtality with Ebuka” is more than a podcast. It’s a movement aimed at dismantling toxic masculinity and promoting healthier, more authentic expressions of manhood.

Blessing Omakwu, Founder & CEO of The She Tank, underscores the importance: “Gender equality is impossible without addressing masculinity. Issues like gender-based violence and incel culture are rooted in how men see themselves. This podcast is a vital step forward.”
