Imagine our own RMD holidaying in the South of France and proudly strutting his Naija designer stuff in silk adire, cotton adire and jersey. The picture RMD would cut inspired Ade Bakare to create a tour de force menswear collection for summer 2023.
The collection of bright colours that contrasted with each other – shades of yellow, green, purple and blue, captured the richness of Africa. Picture this: silk adire shirts worn with linen palazzo trousers for lunch at cafes in Monaco; jersey tops in his signature basket weave (Apere) design to wear on a yacht in cap de Antibes; hooded tops and drawstring trousers for strolling along the coastline at St Tropez . Adire Kembe shorts for quick swims and a beautiful jacket with feathers for attending premieres at Cannes
“The collection for men was inspired by what I personally like to wear. The menswear collection has been a huge success and ironically lots of ladies ordered them for themselves,” Ade Bakare enthused.
