Maryland, U.S., Nigerian-American entertainer and entrepreneur Taiwo Lawrence Osijo, popularly known as MC T-ROKC, has continued to make his mark in the U.S. event industry, building a reputation as one of the most versatile and charismatic masters of ceremonies in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area.
Since relocating to the United States in 2018, Osijo has hosted close to 200 events, ranging from weddings and birthday celebrations to corporate galas, product launches, and luxury networking programmes. His polished stage presence, cultural versatility, and stylish appearance have earned him the nickname “The James Bond of Event Hosting and The Party Rocker.”
From Lagos to Maryland
Osijo, who hails paternally from Ijebu Imushin, Ogun State, and maternally from Eletu Odibo, Lagos Island, began his entertainment journey in Lagos as a church choir member before venturing into music. Under the stage name T-ROXX, he was part of the group T-ROXX and Mark III, which gained national attention with the single Na Die 4 Me produced by Nelson Brown of Plantashun Boiz fame. He later relaunched as T-ROCKK, collaborating with Nigerian producers such as Eldee da Don and OJB Jezreel.
Parallel to his artistic career, Osijo worked in human resources and brand activation with organisations including SocketWorks Ltd, PPC Ltd, MediaReach OMD, Starcom Media Perspectives, and Insight Redefini. His experience managing activations for brands such as Pepsi and Coca-Cola provided him with skills he now applies in event management.
Career in the United States
Upon moving to Maryland, Osijo transitioned into full-time event hosting. His ability to blend Nigerian cultural elements with international standards of professionalism has distinguished him in the multicultural American entertainment space. He has hosted events in multiple states including New York, California, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Illinois.
In 2019, he established Cr8tivTeck LLC, a Maryland-based consulting and event management company. The firm has organised luxury networking events, including the “Bugatti & Ferrari on Water” showcase at National Harbor in 2024. He is also part of the organising committee for the upcoming Lagos–DMV Afrobeats Festival, in collaboration with Royal Entertainment USA and Nigeria’s Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
Recognition and Community Engagement
Beyond entertainment, Osijo is active in community work. He co-founded the Healing Hearts & Warmth Foundation, which provides food, free medications, and clothing to underserved families in Maryland. He also volunteers with FHCB Health Systems, Safe Streets Baltimore, and Catholic Charities, in addition to mentoring youth in communication and public speaking across churches.
His career has earned him recognition in both Nigeria and the U.S. In 2024, he received a Special Recognition Award from Royal Entertainment USA. Nigerian outlets such as The Sun and Leadership have profiled his work, commending his contributions to entertainment and cultural promotion.
Personal Life
Osijo studied Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (IRPM) at the University of Lagos, where he was voted Most Sociable in 2002. He also holds an MBA in Marketing from the same institution. He is married and lives with his family in Maryland.
