Mayflower old students to commission 14 projects to mark 70th anniversary

Old Students of Mayflower School, Ikenne, who are members of the Mayflower Old Students Association (MOSA) would commission 14 projects today as part of activities marking the school’s 70th anniversary.

MOSA President,Wale Abdul, disclosed this in a parley with reporters.

He said: “We have 14 projects already lined up for commissioning by the Chairman of the Day, Ex-May Oladotun Isiaka (S/N 4013) and the Special Guest of Honour, the First Lady of the State.

“The anniversary reception is expected to take place at the newly commissioned Tai Solarin Hall (TSH) where the School Founders, Late Dr. Tai Solarin and Madam Sheila Solarin shall be awarded with Posthumous Special Recognition and conferment of MOSA Highest Award, Grand Commander of the Order of MOSA (GCOM) along with five Past MOSA Presidents; Lekan Adeniji, Donatus Okereke, Abiodun Dada, Abiodun Shonibare and Dr Rotimi.

“Also, 15 eminent Ex-Mays will be awarded with MOSA Merit Award (MMA) while 70 prominent Ex-Mays and Friends of MOSA which included Segun Ogunsanya, a former MD/CEO of Airtel Nigeria, Kunle Sonola, a former MD/CEO of Polaris Bank, Seinde Fadeni, Chairman of NAHCO and a host of others will be bestowed with Special Recognition Award by the MOSA President.

“Later in the day, at BLFA, we shall be hosting all Ex-Mays and friends of MOSA to all night party tagged, Ex-May Night Out. The night out event will witness Ex-Mays in their customized anniversary Ankara being entertained by King of Juju music, King Sunny Ade (KSA).

“Our 70th Anniversary will be wrapped up with the 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and transfer of batons to the celebrating Class Sets on Sunday, January 25th, 2026,” the  starting from 10am.”
