The Grassroots Mobilization For Asiwaju (GMA 2023), has assured Nigerians of a peaceful and successful transition of power on the 29th May, 2023.
The National President of the group, Comr. Aminu Aminu made this known in a world Press conference held today 10 of May, 2023 at Bassan Plaza, Central Business District, Abuja.
Aminu, while speaking further, pointed out that the organisation under his leadership stands with the position of the great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) and that of the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu stressing that Senator Godswill Akpabio from Akwa Ibom for Senate President and Honourable Tajudeen Abbas from Kaduna for Speaker of the House of representatives for the 10th Assembly is what they stand for going by their leadership prowess and political weight.
In his words, “I want to categorically state that, Grassroot Mobilization for Asiwaju (GMA) stands with the position of our great party the All Progressive Congress (APC) and that of the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The Party’s Position and that of the president-elect on Speakership of the House of Representatives and that of the Senate Presidency of the 10th Assembly is well thought out and we at Grassroot Mobilization for Asiwaju stand by them.
“For those who do not know the president-elect, he is one politician in this country whose political judgement is never influenced by sentiment but by national interest as such we stand by Senator Godswill Akpabio from Akwa Ibom for senate president and Honourable Tajudeen Abbas from Kaduna for Speaker of the House of representatives.
“These two parliamentarians have proved themselves to be patriotic and progressive Nigerians who believe in one Nigeria and have contributed immensely to the development of the nation and the safeguarding of our democracy.
“Our endorsement of the above-mentioned gentlemen was born out of critical thinking and assessment of their track records and performance in the national polity.
“Senator Akpabio and Honourable Tajudeen can best be described as stabilizers of our democracy and true bridge builders across our national differences.
“Their commitment to the cause of this nation, and their wealth of experience in administrative and legislative management will go a long way in assisting the President-elect to stay focused on delivering the promise made to Nigerians.
“Let us also use this medium to appeal to the senators-elect and returned and members-elect and returned to bury their hatchet and rally around Senator Akpabio and Honourable Tajudeen as the leaders of the two Chambers of the 10th assembly.
“We also appeal to the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President-elect to consider appointing those who are experienced, detribalized, incorruptible, patriotic and have Nigeria at heart to propel the country to greatness.
“As active members of the APC and who have contributed to the victory of the party at all levels in the February and March 2023 elections through the Grassroot Mobilization for Asiwaju (GMA) the only campaign support organization that has purchased three vehicles for campaign activities, built an office and trained and empowered over five thousand young Nigerians, school teachers and other vulnerable groups we felt it is necessary to lend our voice to the national debate on who to become the senate president and speaker of the 10th assembly.
“We urge all Nigerians to look beyond our ethnic, regional and religious differences and support the incoming government to succeed.
“We the citizens of this country need to know that the incoming president Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, took his time to identify those he knew would complement the effort of his government to deliver to Nigerians dividend of democracy.
“Ours is to stand by him and give him all the support to succeed”, he added.
