The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (Rtd), has reaffirmed his commitment to the education of officers’ children and the welfare of personnel and their families.

Marwa gave the assurance on Friday during a working visit to the newly launched pioneer NDLEA Command School at the Agency’s Barracks in Yola, Adamawa State.
He inspected the school’s facilities and interacted with pupils, students and staff.
Addressing the students, he urged them to embrace discipline, punctuality and academic excellence, which he said were essential to their success and future aspirations.
He told them to read diligently, work hard to pass their examinations, worship God and obey their parents and teachers. He also asked them to make staying away from illicit drugs “non-negotiable.”

The NDLEA boss promised continued support for the school’s development so that it provides quality education and becomes one of the leading schools in the country. He said the school reflects the Agency’s resolve to give the children of its personnel access to quality education within their immediate community.

Marwa also met members of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association and other residents of the barracks.

The women thanked him for bringing the Command School to the barracks, describing it as a significant investment in their children’s education and future. They also praised his leadership and the transformation recorded in the Agency under him.

Responding, Marwa said the welfare of officers and their families would continue to receive attention under his watch. He disclosed that plans for the formal inauguration of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association were at an advanced stage.
He said it would give the wives of officers a platform to organise and contribute to the well-being of the NDLEA family.

He was accompanied on the visit by the Zone 2 Commander, ACGN Ishaku Yusuf Kwajafa, and other senior officers of the Agency.

The details were contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Agency’s Director, Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
