Maribased1 hip hop single ‘Spend It’ makes history in the PNW

Premiering just last week on the MITV channel, as well as the BET channel in spring 2022, the hot new single “SPEND IT” from Seattle rapper MariBased1 has gained widespread acclaim for its ear-catching and unique hip hop sounds, as well as its vibrant music video produced by Artistic Outlet Media, another PNW creative collective.

The iconic project, released by BJ&J ENT, has made black history in the Seattle Music scene with father-son duo Mr. Benjamin and Maribased1 being the first to achieve national video airplay as an independent hip hop artist — a feat never before accomplished in the Seattle music scene.

The video blew up TV screens with striking neon images of poker games, high-end gentlemen’s clubs, and red motorbikes. Father-son duo Maribased1 and entertainment manager Mr. Benjamin continue their legacy of widespread BET premieres and influence on the PNW hip hop scene, and the track features the latest verse from Mr. Benjamin himself alongside Mari’s unique stylings.

The continued premieres and success of the video on national and worldwide stations solidify the artist’s own motto as fact: SEATTLE MUSIC IS REAL; THIS AIN’T A GAME, IT’S A MOVEMENT! SPEND IT’s music video brings to life the song’s high-energy, high-class vibes, with Mari, Mr. Benjamin, and featured artist E-Silent raking in new winnings at the poker table, and enjoying the company of dancers at a gentleman’s club completely constructed for the video in a production studio by Artistic Outlet Media.

The song, produced by DJFunkDaddy, is available on YouTube now and the video has so far earned nearly 130,000 views on the platform alone; it is additionally set to premiere on further nationwide and worldwide channels in the coming weeks, and currently played on stations such as City FM, Naija FM, Beat FM and more. Fans can download and stream the track on CROWDED, SPOTIFY, AUDIOMACK, BOOMPLAY, and ITUNES, among other platforms.

The iconic father-son duo Maribased1 and Mr. Benjamin continues to make waves in the Pacific Northwest hip hop scene with their newest singles and collaborations, such as with tracks “Sometimes” and “Talk Talk Talk” (featuring award-winning Nigerian artist Yungix), and the pair eagerly anticipates their next video premiere.
