Manchester United have rejected Kobbie Mainoo’s request to proceed on loan, BBC reports.
The academy graduate has a contract until 2027 but fighting for a shirt against captain Bruno Fernandes has seen his playing time limited.

Mainoo, 20, was an unused substitute in both of United’s opening Premier League games, although he played the full 90 minutes as Ruben Amorim’s side lost on penalties to fourth-division Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup earlier in the week.
Seeking more regular playing time, the player put in a loan request which United bosses rejected, emphasising the player’s importance to the club’s project.
