Man docked for alleged unlawful possession of car batteries

An 18-year-old man, Yusuf Oyeniyi, on Monday appeared in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for alleged unlawful possession of car batteries.
Oyeniyi is facing a count charge of unlawful possession of car batteries.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 5, at about 7:30 a.m. in Sabo area of Osogbo.
Ajayi said that the accused was caught with two car batteries, which he could not give account how he came about them.
He said the offence contravened Section 430 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The defence counsel, Mr Najite Okobie, applied for his bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs. Olu Oloyade, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until Oct. 5 for mention. (NAN)
