The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old girl in Ikorodu area of the state.
The police said the survivor’s mother, who lives at Offin Oke Egan Street, Ikorodu, had reported that her nine-year-old daughter complained that she was having stomach pains and when she checked her, she discovered that she was discharging fluid from her private parts. On enquiry, she girl told her how Mr. Issac Adeniran, 29, a neighbour, lured her to his room and defiled her.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the survivor was taken to Ita Ilewa Medical Centre, Ikorodu for treatment, while the suspect was arrested.
The PPRO said the case has been handed over to the Gender Unit at the State Command Headquarters, Ikeja, while investigation into the matter continues.
