A 25-year-old man, abducted in his wife and son’s presence by gunmen, has been rescued by the Ondo State Police Command.
The victim, Jimoh Isah, was said to be cruising a motorcycle on Ifira–Isua Akoko Road in the Akoko South-East Local Government of the state, when at about 4:10 pm on January 7, 2026, four armed men ambushed him and took him away.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said that Isah was conveying his 22-year-old wife, Esther Isah, and their son on the motorbike when the incident occurred.
However, upon receipt of the distress report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Isua Police Division immediately swung into action, mobilized his crack detectives, in collaboration with non-state actors, and embarked on a swift tactical response.
The joint security team reportedly stormed the area and resorted to intensive bush-combing operation across surrounding forests, while identifying possible escape routes.
