Major Lazer thrills as US calls for peaceful elections

The United States Consulate General in Lagos, in collaboration with U-Live Africa, last Friday co-hosted electronic dance music group, Major Lazer. The even took place at Hard Rock Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Flanked by Sound Sultan and Korede Bello, the US Consul General, John Bray said: “Tonight we are all here for Major Lazer. Music is the weapon; peace is the mission. As the 2019 general election draws close, I encourage you all to make a commitment to a non-violent and peaceful democratic process.”

Indeed, it was a night to remember for the hundreds of fans who thronged the Hard Rock Beach, as Major Lazer belted out tune after tune to the delight of the guests.

Comprising of Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, the electronic dance music group recently dropped three singles, featuring three popular Nigerian acts.Their current tour, a part of their broader African tour, will take them to South Africa and Kenya.
