Presents nine-point development agenda

Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Mafara has emerged as the consensus governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Zamfara State chapter, presenting a nine-point development agenda for the total transformation, peace and progress of the state.
The ceremony was conducted on Saturday, 23 May, at the Multipurpose Hall of Gusau Restaurant, opposite the Federal College of Education (Technical), FCE-T, in Gusau, the state capital.
The Chief Returning Officer for the Zamfara State ADC primaries, Hon. Chief Paul Eze, presented the collective results for House of Assembly candidates, House of Representatives, Senate and governorship, respectively.
The House of Representatives candidates for Zamfara ADC were Gusau/Tsafe – Abubakar Muhammadu Gusau; Bakura/Maradun – Yahuza Saad; Gummi/Bukkuyum – Mizbahu Abubakar; Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji – Ibrahim Magaji. The senatorial candidates were: Zamfara Central Zone – Abubakar Shehu; Zamfara West Zone – Shika Aliyu; Zamfara North Zone – Abdulkareem Umar.
Presenting the ADC governorship aspirant, Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Mafara, and his deputy, Yasir Shuaibu, the chairman described the aspirant as an astute politician and a renowned businessman who has contributed greatly to the growth and development of Zamfara.
The state ADC chairman, Alhaji Garba Gusau Ubandewaki, praised the personality of the aspirant and thanked him for choosing the party as a platform to bring his wealth of experience and goodwill to save the people of Zamfara State from extinction due to incessant insecurity, increasing banditry and economic decay.
In his response, the aspirant thanked the committee chairman, Chief Paul Eze, and his members for working tirelessly and ensuring the success of the party primaries.

He assured the youths that an end has come to the politics of empty promises, calling on the people of Zamfara State to come together and support the ADC for a peaceful and progressive Zamfara State.
The ADC governorship aspirant pledged to focus more on the development of Zamfara State youths if elected.
He plans to invest in youths, assist them to discover their talents and promote the hidden talents in the youths, and use them for state-building.
He noted that what Zamfara State is currently facing is a misdirection of talents embedded in the youths of the state.
He revealed that the dormant capacity of Zamfara State youths was discovered earlier by the enemies of the state, who seized the opportunity to manipulate the innocent youths against the peace and stability of the state.
He vowed to end insecurity, kidnapping, banditry and other forms of criminality via sincere dialogue, counselling and capacity building, redirecting the strength of Zamfara State youths into positive areas that would make Zamfara State peaceful again.
Alhaji Ibrahim Salisu Mafara said his vision for Zamfara State is to unite the people of the state and ensure adequate peace and equal opportunity for progress and prosperity for all.
He listed his nine-point development agenda for Zamfara State as follows: youth development; employment opportunities; agricultural development; educational development; healthcare development; care for the aged; revival of the power supply system; a total end to insecurity; and economic advancement.
He called on the people of Zamfara State to join him and support his plans so that, together, Zamfara State can be moved to a land of peace and limitless progress.
