The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated five refurbished operational vehicles, ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests and raincoats to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), 651 Base Services Group, to boost its operational readiness and enhance the safety and welfare of personnel protecting Lagos State.
The Fund said the strategic intervention forms part of its commitment to strengthening the capacity of security agencies through the provision of critical operational equipment needed to effectively confront evolving security challenges.
According to the LSSTF, the donation also reflects the Lagos State Government’s sustained investment in equipping security agencies with essential logistics, noting that well-equipped and adequately protected security personnel remain indispensable to maintaining public safety, safeguarding critical infrastructure and preserving the peace that has continued to make Lagos Nigeria’s safest and most secure state.
The vehicles and protective equipment were presented by the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, to the Commander of the Nigerian Air Force 651 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Mohammed A. Imam.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Ogunsan said the donation of ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests and raincoats forms part of the Trust Fund’s broader strategy of ensuring that frontline security personnel are adequately equipped to discharge their constitutional responsibilities safely and effectively.
Addressing officers and men of the 651 Base Services Group, he commended the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism, discipline and invaluable contributions to the security of Lagos State and the nation at large.
He reaffirmed the Trust Fund’s commitment to providing strategic support to all security agencies operating in Lagos.
“On behalf of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Board and Management of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, we sincerely appreciate your unwavering support in securing Lagos State. Your contribution is unparalleled. We cannot equate it to anything because your support has remained invaluable,” he said.
According to him, investing in the welfare, safety and protection of security personnel is essential to building a resilient security architecture capable of responding swiftly to emerging threats.

Ogunsan assured the officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force that the Lagos State Government, through the LSSTF, would continue to complement the efforts of security agencies by providing operational support that enhances effectiveness, improves morale and promotes inter-agency collaboration.
“This is just the beginning. We are going to do more to encourage you so that whenever duty calls in Lagos, you will continue to give your best. Thank you very much for all you do. We appreciate you immensely,” he added.
Receiving the refurbished vehicles, raincoats and protective equipment, the Commander, 651 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Mohammed A. Imam, expressed profound appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for the sustained support.
He described the donation as another demonstration of the enduring partnership between the LSSTF and security agencies, noting that the operational vehicles and protective gear would significantly enhance the safety, efficiency and operational effectiveness of Nigerian Air Force personnel deployed across Lagos State.
As part of the visit, Air Commodore Imam conducted Dr. Ogunsan on a guided tour of the facilities of the 651 Base Services Group, showcasing key operational and support infrastructure while highlighting the unit’s readiness and continued contributions to national security.
Dr. Ogunsan was accompanied on the visit by the LSSTF Director of Administration, Adegbola Lewis, while senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force were also in attendance.
