Atalanta defeated Fiorentina 2-0 at home on Sunday, with goals from Odilon Kossounou and Ademola Lookman.
The opener came through in the 41st minute when Kossounou, on a clever assist from Charles De Ketelaere, swung a first-time effort into the far top corner, a moment of brilliance that sent the home crowd into raptures.
Not content with a slender lead, Atalanta struck again early in the second half. In the 51st minute, Lookman reacted quickest to a loose ball after a corner and drove it home with composure, doubling the advantage.

Fiorentina looked disjointed and wasteful in their few forays forward. In contrast, Atalanta maintained control and ensured their clean sheet held until the final whistle.
The win lifts Atalanta to 11th on the Serie A table with 16 points from 13 matches, momentum they will hope to build on under new coach Raffaele Palladino.
