The remains of the late Lolo Roseline Akunacha Ahamba (nee Anyanwu) will be committed to Mother Earth on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Family members, friends, and well-wishers will converge on Ndiuhu village in Umueze Chokoneze autonomous community, Ezinihitte Local Government Area of Imo State, to bid farewell to the retired school headmistress, whose husband, the late Nze David Ahamba, held the position of traditional prime minister of Chokoneze Ancient Kingdom.
Lolo Ahamba, who was the mother-in-law of Emma Njoku, the Senior Deputy News Editor, Daily Sun, died in the early hours of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, during a brief illness, two days before her 78th birthday.
According to the burial programme released by the family, her body will leave the Ogbor Nguru Mortuary, Aboh Mbaise, at 8 am on Wednesday, April 8, for her husband’s compound in Ndiuhu, Umueze Chokoneze, for the lying-in-state ceremony.
The body will depart the husband’s compound at 10 am for a funeral church service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Chokoneze, after which interment follows at the late husband’s compound. There will be an outing service by the family, friends, and other relatives on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Chokoneze at 9 am.
A devout Christian in the Anglican Communion, Lolo Ahamba was also a very active women leader, whose benevolence and friendly disposition endeared her to the people of her community and others who came across her.
As a renowned educationist, Lolo Ahamba began her teaching career in Aba, Abia State, where she taught in many schools before she was transferred to Imo State, where she also taught in many schools in Ezinihitte Local Government Area, retiring as a headmistress.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, brothers, sister, and in-laws.
